Collection Preview: Wildflower Fields
If you happened to be in Texas from the months of April to June, you might have witnessed the most incredible wildflower season. Not only was this wildflower season incredible in its volume of wildflowers, but the longevity of the blooms. While it’s only now that I’ve gotten the opportunity to capture these wild fields in my paintings, let me tell you, it was well worth the wait. Inspired by the movement and freedom of these wild fields, this collection celebrates Springtime and honors the season that reminds us that each season brings an opportunity for new growth, new life, and new hope.
This collection includes seventeen paintings in four different sizes: 6x6”, 8x8”, 9x12”, and 12x12” created with both drawn and painted elements. I first sketch in the scene with colored pencil, and then layer on top with oil paint. Each of the inspiration photos was taken at and around my family’s Farm in south Texas at the peak of wildflower season. Each has its own unique vantage point that, in my mind, captures the essence of wildflower season in Texas: lush full fields and explosions of color all under the wide open Texas sky.
To add the finishing touch, each painting is finished with a gorgeous floater frame, making it that much easier for you to hang your painting on the wall as quickly as possible! I can imagine these pieces hanging on a wall, propped in the corner of your kitchen counter, or artfully arranged on a shelf with your favorite collectible items. The possibilities are really endless!
